WIC Initiatives
Central & Main Housing Project
Central & Main Housing Project – WIC is partnering with Evernorth and the Windham Windsor Housing Trust to develop the “Central and Main” workforce housing project, which is proposed for property that WIC owns behind the Windsor Diner. WIC has facilitated local and state permit discussions as well as successful efforts at project funding through VHCB, VHFA and others.
River Street Commerce Park
River Street Commerce Park – WIC owns and operates the former Goodyear Facility, with management support from Springfield Regional Development Corporation. Space is available for light commercial/industrial use as well as storage needs. For more information, contact Heather Hartford – hhartford@springfielddevelopment.org
Windsor Resource Center
Windsor Resource Center – The Resource Center serves as the non-profit/social service hub for the community. WIC owns and operates the facility, with management by Springfield Regional Development Corporation and in partnership with the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. For available office space, contact Heather Hartford – hhartford@springfielddevelopment.org
Jarvis St House
Jarvis Street House – WIC completed a successful pilot housing project in the Jarvis Street area of Windsor, a part of the community that has been challenged to attract funding due to flood plain regulatory constraints. WIC, with support from the Town of Windsor, acquired an empty building and did a complete renovation, including lifting the structure to comply with flood regulations. The house now is fully occupied and serves as an example of what can be done to
improve properties in that area.
